There are many things to like about this area! If I were to choose just one it would be the quality of the schools.-Tammy Hoekstra

Living in Salisbury, at times feels like living in a resort community.  I love driving through the neighborhood, and seeing people playing tennis, golfing, fishing, swimming, biking and running, in addition to the children playing at the park.  I love the relaxing vibe a neighborhood like this provides - it often feels like I'm on vacation during my day to day life! -Erin Bohannon

Being new to Richmond, I have loved how easy it has been to meet people in the neighborhood and form friendships!  Not to mention how convenient and wonderfully charming it is too! -Laura Stayin

We love our large private lot ;) and the people -Cali Hammer

I love that it is such a beautiful, well-developed neighborhood that is so family-friendly. -Susan Chappell

It is too Hard to say only one sentence describing why I love this neighborhood. Awesome neighbors, tons of babysitters, 1 mile from the club, 1 mile from Lake Salisbury, amazing school district, tons of roads and routes to go on long runs, 2 miles from the river, the wishing well playground, luckys, Salisbury mothers club, the luminaries, beautiful houses that do not all look the same, large wooded lots, tons of charm, established neighborhood and I feel safe! -Brooke Gilbert

We love living in Salisbury for the sense of community created by excellent schools, churches and family-friendly country club. -Jackie Foreman

I love the uniqueness that Salisbury offers with it's spacious lots and beautiful trees; it is a neighborhood, but it still lets it's owners have a sense of freedom and room without being on top of each other. -Catherine Boone

We have nice neighbors. -Salisbury resident's child

I love the wonderful families living in Salisbury! -Gena Claudel
We love seeing and meeting friends swimming and picnicking at Salisbury Lake. - Melissa Tannery

The following are statements from Roxshire residents:

We've been there for 4 years now and we love it!    There are a lot of kids, all the neighbors are friendly, we have lots of neighborhood events (Easter, Back to School, Summer, Luminaries).     It's close to amenities like ACAC and the schools I have heard are fantastic.     I have met lots of young moms in the neighborhood and there are a bunch who go to our preschool.   There are some informal playgroups and meet ups especially in the summer.

It's definitely one of the best decisions we have made.    It's just a great neighborhood.-Jenn Denton

I have lived here 10 years and I love it! We have a civic association that you pay $50.00 a year for and you get a directory, things for the kids such as( Easter egg hunt, start of school neighborhood pizza party, luminaries). My cul de sac has dinners where we trade houses and all get together with the kids included! Great babysitters all around the neighborhood! She can join mothers club of course, ha, ha! The schools are robious elementary, robious middle and and James River high. I have loved Robious elementary. It is awesome! No complaints about the school. The country club is 2 minutes away if they are golfers or swimmers! Close to wild ginger!  We have nice sized lots in Roxshire and no one is on top if their neighbor because there is good space in between the homes. My kids have plenty of friends in their cul de sac to play with! Let me know what else you need! If they are looking for a church, there are several near by as well! -Cristin Drummond

The following are statements from Bon Air residents:

I love the community and the old charm of Bon air.-Liz Lecky

We enjoyed keeping cool this summer, with a 5 min trip to canoe the James or a 5 min walk to our neighborhood pool.

Local secret Lewis Larius Park is a 40 acre green space park on the corner of Buford and Huguenot. It's the perfect spot for walking your dog, or exploring with kids. Family playgrounds and more walking trails are minutes away at Huguenot Park or Robious Landing.

The Bon Air Library was renovated in June 2014, adding an open floor plan and community resource center. They offer weekend classes for children, performances, summer reading programs, and story times - free. My kids' favorite part is the new "Reading Tree", and that we can ride our bikes to the library instead of driving.

I drive to work downtown (or events year round) with nearly no traffic. From Buford Road, you take Jahnke Road to Powhite Parkway to get downtown in under 10 minutes. To get to the West End - it's also easy to take Robious to 288 to avoid all the traffic and tolls. Going south is even easier, with Chippenham Parkway just off Janke Road.

Local fresh food is right around the corner: Good Foods Grocery, Bon Air Butcher and Relay Foods bring the Farmers' market to you. We don't eat out often - but I recommend Benny's BBQ, Joes Inn, Gelati Celesti, Chicken Fiesta, Franks Pizza and Galley.  Coming soon, we're looking forward to a local coffee shop, "Perk" and the much anticipated restaurant "Southbound".

Local shopping treasures include Toys that Teach and Buford Road Pharmacy.

Preschool? There's about six to choose from on or around Buford. Local churches also provide opportunities for sports, fellowship and even sports activities minutes away.

We love Bon Air  Elementary School because the teachers are amazing and my kids look forward to school every day.  I love the school's "Leader in Me" program, Village Fair in the Fall, Bon Air 5k, "Eagle Extras" after school classes in the winter and even our bus driver. It's easy for parents to get involved, or just enjoy the variety of activities the PTA plans to support the school community. -Tiffany Ferreira

The following are statements from Powderham residents:

We have lived in Powderham for 17 years and our kids have all gone through or are currently students in CCPS system.

We love this neighborhood! It is a very tight knight group and truly, your neighbors would do anything for another neighbor. Everyone is extremely supportive of one another. Anytime of day, you see kids riding  bikes and people out and about.  Yet, with large lots you still feel you have privacy and a little bit of the country. Powderham also has the best  location. It is so easy to get anywhere!

This is a great neighborhood and community to raise a family. It is definitely a happy and beautiful place to live.  -Jodi Outland

The following are statements from Rosemont residents:

We have been so happy with our choice to move to Rosemont.  We originally chose the area because of the excellent schools, but have fallen in love with the varied home styles,  friendly neighbors and big trees that the neighborhood has to offer.  There are woods for the kids to explore, quiet streets for bike riding and good routes for jogging (if you don't mind a few hills!) -Suzie Spiller
