De-Winterize too!8:59 PM
Most of us know that when it comes to irrigation systems, you need to winterize.
Did you know that you need to de-winterize too? Yes, you must if you want everything working the way it should.
My recommendation would be to contact the same contractor who installed your system. If you are unaware of who that may be, ask your local REALTOR® to recommend someone or contact a trustworthy homebuilder to suggest one. You want to make sure that the contractor you hire is highly trained and knowledgeable about sprinkler systems. These are a big investment that you don’t want to go wrong on your property. If something goes wrong, it can costs lots of money to fix.
When your contractor comes back to de-winterize your irrigation make sure they check the following:
1) Sprinkler heads- rotation and leakage
2) The drainage
3) Control unit and system in tact
4) Backflow preventer
It’s a pretty safe bet that you’ll be in good shape this spring and summer as long as that checklist is followed.
