Irene's Got Nothing on Cherokee
10:29 AMCherokee is still standing after Irene ripped through our city like a steam engine knocking down trees and power lines. After sitting in our Family Room for a few hours, we made an executive decision to evacuate. This is what we found the next day.
Irene did her fair share of damage to Richmond. There are still 50% of Richmonders without power and lots of trees to clean up. Dominion Virginia Power estimates that all of Richmond’s power will be restored by Saturday morning.
As you drive by neighborhoods around our city, open your windows and you will only hear the sound of generators. Almost every home was affected. It’s amazing.
After a few hours of tender-loving care, Cherokee is like new again… all she needs is her power back.

So glad you are safe and sound!!! We were hit the same way, a lot of trees and houses with roof and fence damage, but thankfully nothing more serious! And, thankfully nobody hurt!! We got our power back on Tuesday!! Hope all is well with you guys and hope the power is on really soon!! Much love!! Kathy
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I hope you and your family are okay now that the hurricane has passed through. I've been through so many natural disasters that they never get easy and the clean up can take forever.
ReplyDeleteHope your house is okay now,

I'm glad you're ok! You were very lucky - I saw that one tree leaning near your porch. And I'm glad you got out - you never know. Blessings.
