My Favorite Brownies

3:41 PM

I added the Epicurious application to my iPhone a few days ago and finally had a chance to use it yesterday.  It’s awesome and so is my phone. (Just had to add that in there.)  I needed a tasty dessert recipe for kids and it had to be ready in less than two hours.   My computer was packed away, so I brought out my phone and found a recipe!  The best part was that I didn’t have to go back to the store for any ingredients!
The kids ended up loving the treats.  I didn’t see any scraps on any of their plates.  These are taking the #1 spot on my list of dessert recipes.  You have to trust me on this, especially if you love chocolate.  If Gourmet didn't have to doctor their recipe name with anything except calling them "Brownies," they must be good.
What You Will Need And Already Have:

2 sticks of unsalted butter
2 Dark chocolate candy bars (Thank you Santa.)
Handful of semi-sweet morsels
2 tsp Vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 ¼ C flour
2 C sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
Baking pan
Non-stick cooking spray
Wax paper
Rolling pin
Glass bowl
Sauce pan
Whisk
Small bowl
Medium bowl
“Spoonula”
1)      Preheat oven to 350˚.
2)      Pound chocolate bars with rolling pin until coarsely chopped.
3)      Melt butter and chocolate in glass bowl over sauce pan of nearly boiling water.

4)      Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl.

5)      Whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla and chocolate mixture in medium bowl.

6)      Add flour mixture to egg mixture.  Whisk together until mixed completely.

7)      Spray baking pan with non-stick spray.  Line with wax paper and spray over wax paper.

8)      Pour batter over wax paper.
9)      Bake for 45 minutes.
10)   Remove from oven and cool completely.
11)   Cut into square pieces.
