Julia’s Snappy Beef Bourguignonne

I searched specifically for quick and easy beef recipe and came across this dish in Real Simple.  It reminded me of Julie & Julia.  I loved that book.  If I had the time to devote my life to my blog, I guess I would make the true version of this dish.  I do love my blog, but I love my life too.  I am fortunate to have found a much quicker version to enjoy with those that I love.  I think you will like it too.
My Oldest prefers steak over most meats and was excited when she heard what we were having.  When I gave her the plate, she was weary of the sauce.  When we convinced her to try it, she was pleasantly surprised.  Wee Bit was half-way through the meal when all of this took place.
What You Will Need:

1 lb sirloin steak cut into 1 inch pieces
1 10 oz pkg frozen pearl onions (Birds Eye in Sherry sauce)
10 oz sliced mushrooms
1 (10 oz) can Golden Mushroom Soup
1 C red wine
½ C chopped parsley
What You Already Have at Home:
½ soup can of water
Salt and pepper
1 T olive oil
Large sauce pan
Large plate
1)      Heat olive oil in sauce pan over medium-high heat.  Brown steak and transfer to large plate.
2)      Add mushrooms and onions to pan.  Cook until onions have thawed.

3)      Stir in wine and reduce for 10 minutes.

4)      Add soup and water to pan and bring to boil.  Reduce to simmer.
5)      Add meat and any drippings back to pan.  Heat for 5 minutes.
6)      Serve.

  1. Looks good. I love anything made with Golden Mushroom soup. (I have a good chicken recipe if you want it that uses it.)
