Two Way Pizza

We have a house full of any kind of pizza-lovers, which is fortunate for us because the toppings are endless!  The oldest loves to stand on the step ladder while we create our scrummy masterpieces.  She pretends to help when she’s really sneaking pieces of pepperoni off of the pie.
Pizza Night is fun!  And it should be!  What a great way to gather the family and make magic in the kitchen. 
Tonight we’re having thin crust with half red sauce half white crust.
What You Will Need for the sauce:
1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 (15 oz) can petite diced tomatoes, drained
1 ½  T olive oil
1 tsp basil
2 tsp Italian Seasoning
2 garlic cloves, cut in half
Food processor
Medium pot
1)      Combine all ingredients in food processor.  Puree until no visible pieces of garlic.
2)      Heat in pot over high heat and bring to boil.
3)      Reduce to simmer and thicken for about 10-15 minutes.
What You Will Need for the Pizza:
1 tube thin crust pizza dough
1 baking sheet, greased
1 garlic clove, coarsely chopped
Olive oil
3 oz goat cheese
2 C Italian style mozzarella shredded cheese
1 ripened pear, thinly sliced
½ red onion, thinly sliced
1 tsp dried basil
4 T red sauce (recipe at top)
1)      Preheat oven to 400˚.
2)      Roll pizza dough onto sheet and bake for 5 minutes.
3)      Remove crust from oven.  Drizzle with olive oil.
4)      Sprinkle garlic over half of crust.  Cover this same half with red onion, goat cheese, 1 C mozzarella and pear.
5)      Spread red sauce over other half of crust.  Cover with mozzarella and pepperoni.
6)      Bake for another 10 mins.
7)      Serve.
