Pizza Joes

The kitchen sink needed some repairs at home and someone decided to make them at the same time as dinner.  No complaints here because we’re just happy it’s fixed. J  The funniest part about this is when asked, “How does it look?” I realize that the faucet is backwards.  What do you say?  Do you ignore and let him figure it out?  I don’t have the best poker face.  He discovered his mistake before I had to.  Ahh.  It was pretty funny.
While adjusting the sink, I prepared our dinner.  It had to be simple when the kitchen sink was out of commission… and it had to be something we’d all enjoy.
We had leftover pizza sauce from pizza night and I bought some ground turkey today too.  Sloppy Joes are extremely easy to make and a huge favorite at our house.  I thought these were appropriate.
What You Will Need:

3 English Muffins, cut in half
1 lb ground turkey
What You Already Have at Home:
½ tsp Italian Seasoning
½ tsp Garlic salt
½ tsp Parsley
¼ tsp dried red pepper flakes
½ C mozzarella cheese, shredded
Fresh Basil
Cookie sheet lined with foil
Large skillet
1)      Preheat broiler to High.

2)      Broil English muffins until toasted.  About 3-5 minutes (depends on your oven).
3)      Brown meat in large skillet.  Drain liquid.

4)      Add pizza sauce.  Season with Italian seasoning, garlic salt, parsley flakes and red pepper flakes.

5)      Top toasted English muffins with ¼ C meat mixture.  Sprinkle with cheese.
6)      Transfer to oven and broil until cheese melts.

7)      Place a sprig of basil as garnish and serve.
