The Perfect Stew

“Hamburger Soup” Doesn’t Cut It.
How about “perfect” stew?  Really, I’m not kidding.  It’s soupy, cheesy, meaty, noodly (not a word), comforting stew.  I threw all of this together because it’s what I had in the house and it was close to what I needed for another recipe (“Hamburger Soup” ).  I had fifteen minutes before a meeting and I challenged myself to get this together and turn my slow-cooker on and POW!  Voila!  Presto!  When I returned from the meeting, the house smelled like an Italian Pastaria!

What You Will Need:
½ cup parmesan cheese (shaky works)
1 cup macaroni, uncooked
1 lb ground turkey, Italian seasoned

1 (14.5 oz) can sweet peas
½ cup celery, chopped
1 cup carrots, chopped
What You Might Have at Home:
¼ tsp pepper
¼ tsp oregano
¼ tsp basil
¼ tsp celery seed
¼ tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 chicken bouillons
1 T dried minced onion
1 tsp garlic powder
2 T tomato paste
3 cups boiling water
1 T soy sauce
Slow cooker
Large pot
1)      Bring 5 cups of salted water to a boil.  Add uncooked pasta.  Cook until al dente.  Reserve 3 cups of boiling water and drain pasta.  Refrigerate drained pasta.
2)      Brown turkey.  Add to slow cooker.
3)      Add all ingredients from turkey to soy sauce to slow cooker.  Turn on slow cooker and cook for 5 hours.
4)      After 5 hours, add cooked macaroni and parmesan cheese to slow cooker.  Cover and cook another 10 minutes.
Serve with biscuits.
